I have been drinking coffee everyday since I was 20. I was able to quit smoking cold turkey without any problem, but I have never even considered the thought of quitting drinking my favorite espresso coffee. I have been reducing the amount of coffee I drink and have started to feel wierd, like I am not feeling well, like I am not running at full capacity anymore. This is what I used to drink:
- (7.00am) Drink a cup of tea on the way to work.
- (7.40am )Stop a Starbucks and have my favorite one shot espresso with half and half and honey (yes! it is so beautiful) – now I am at full capacity.
- (9.30am) After one hour of work have another espresso or house cup of coffee.
- (10.30am) a cup of tea or coffee to boost productivity until lunch
- (3pm) Drink another Starbucks espresso because I am feeling sleepy.
- (6pm) I don’t do this one very often because it keeps me up until midnight but if I have a home project where I need a lot of inspiration I might have a tea.
Coffee does make boring jobs interesting and gives me the superpower to execute them with excellence. Coffee does make me happy. On one occasion I drove my car on a solo vacation drive trip from Minnesota to Utah all by the back roads over 5 days. I would get very depressed all by myself on this otherwise wonderful ride, so I had my portable espresso kit in the truck, with fresh half and half and honey, and instant caffeinated coffee -of course, what is the point otherwise – and yes after stopping in a nice rest area in the shade, making myself an espresso drink and sipping it slowly while reflecting and enjoying the scenery, my mood would get positive again and the depression and loneliness of the moment would leave.
In summary, from my experience coffee has made me more productive and happy.
So yes, I would say that Coffee is a drug
